Hey! I just got home from church! Br. Giovanni gave an amazing homily today. I don't think I've ever been to mass when he gave the homily but it was really good. The Gospel was about "Doubting Thomas" (John 20:19-30) today and then Br. Giovanni was talking about how these days we need two forms of I.D. for someone to trust us. Jesus appeared to 11 of the disciples and Thomas was not there that time. So when the disciples told Thomas that Jesus had risen Thomas didn't trust that Jesus was risen from the dead and he said, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nais were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it." (John 20:25) So a week later Jesus apppeared again to the disciples, and Thomas was there this time. Because Thomas saw Jesus and touched His wounds he believed the Jesus had risen and was alive again. There are only 11 apostles. Being an apostle means that you take that extra step to trust without proof. Br. Giovanni told a story. If Jesus went to God and God told Jesus to show him the I.D. cards of his apostles and Jesus only showed 11 I.D. cards and God said, "You need 12." Would your face be on that last card??
I didn't do a very good job of explaining the homily but it was something like that. I really liked it.
Today was our last CCD class. It's kind of weird but it's okay because I still have TYM. :D Yay! Cecilie isn't going tonight though. Sad, sad.
