Wow, Tremaine was awesome this weekend!! We left Friday at 5:30 and got there around 8:00. We were there about 1 1/2 hours earlier than everyone else so me and Ashley and Sarah went walking around doing nothing special. And then we found Brooke. (She doesn't go to our studio but she goes to school with Ashley.) And we were talking to her for a little while. And then everyone else got there and Jennifer, Tabitha, Karly and Crystal had a lot of problems with their hotel room. They were supposed to have 2 double beds but when they got to their room, they only had one. That was at 9:30. It took them until 1:30 in the morning to get to Roll-A-Way beds. Then they all had to go and take classes all day saturday. They looked soooo tired this morning. I felt bad. Classes on saturday were so much fun!!! I ended up getting to go to the Teen Room! Thank God. But I had to do Senior auditions during lunch time and they were REALLY scary. Jennifer (she's my ballet teacher btw.) came in and watched me and she said that when we were learning the combination, I looked really good and she thought I was going to make cuts, but then when it was my turn to actually audition I got really nervous and tense. I'm mad at myself, but oh well. Junior and Teen auditions were this morning. No one from our studio made first cuts for the Teen room. But this little boy named Preston, who has NEVER taken ballet before, made the ballet cuts in the junior room! I was so proud of him! He's so cute. I think he's like 9 or 10. Eh, I don't know. MY brain's not working. I haven't had much sleep and I've been dancing too much. Competition was last night. We didn't compete but we watched it. Man some of those little kids came out, and they're costumes covered less skin than a bathing suit would!! Have we totally lost the concept of nude colored leotards people? Nobody wants to see your belly button. But anyway, Cary Dance Productions took a lot of awards. They were really good!! And they actually covered themselves up! *claps* Ha! There was this one group in the Teen Division and they came out in these unitards, and they were the ones with the hoodish things, and they were black with white stripes and white streamers coming out at the wrists and out of their head!! HAHA it looked like they had toilet paper coming out of their head! Me and Tabitha could NOT stop laughing. They were good dancers though. And right before that, Alyssa was sitting across the aisle from us and she fell asleep and like her head leaned back and it flipped foward really fast. Omg it was hilarious. So we were laughing about that, and then the toilet paper came on stage, man we just about died. Tremaine is the best. Period. But the studio's not going back next year and I'm sad.
I love Joelle. She was one of the jazz teachers at Tremaine. She's so awesome. She sat us all down and she told us about how she grew up going to Tremaine Dance Conventions and how she was always really quiet and then as she got older she realized that it's so much more fun to stand out. And she said, "It's so much more fun to do THIS!" and she RAN around the ballroom hootin' and hollerin' and jumpin' and leapin' all over the place. Man it made me happy. and then she made us all dance around like idiots. She was right though, it was SO much fun!
Well I'll finish this later. I've got to go eat! ta-ta!
